  • Sure do! You can purchase a gift card online and have it emailed to yourself as well as the person being gifted on a specific date! You can also purchase paper copy gift certificates in the studio! If you’d like a paper copy, send a DM, text or email to have one done up!

  • The Humbled Beauty is by appointment only. If any last minute openings come up, they will be shared to @thehumbledbeauty stories!

  • You sure can, just let us know beforehand! You are also welcome to book appointments back to back and come together!

  • Unfortunately this is due to people booking an appointment and then no showing or cancelling with less than 48hrs notice. This leaves me unable to fill a spot and with a loss in income. Your credit card stays on file in order to give me the security of charging a percentage of your service(s) booked in the event of a no show or late cancellation. It will not be used unless either of these two things happen.

Lash Lifting

  • A lash lift is a revolutionized perming procedure for your natural lashes! Using silicone shields (the size chosen is based on the length of your natural lashes) and a gentle perming solution the lashes are lifted and curled to their full potential! This product is specifically designed for eyelashes.

  • A lash lift typically lasts 4-8 weeks. Most clients find 6 weeks to be the perfect time frame between services.

  • Absolutely! Just wait 24hrs after the service and then apply away!

  • No! Please toss the lash curler for the sake of your lashes! This can cause breaking of your natural lashes.

  • You bet! But we ask you to remove them before your appointment or wear glasses to your appointment.

  • Not when done properly! The formula used is gentle and formulated specifically for eyelashes. We are trained to determine the health and thickness of your natural lashes in order to time the length of the product on your lashes. The treatment is also finished with a keratin oil to fully nourish your lashes after the perm solution is used.

  • Please come completely eye makeup free! Wash your lashes before you come so they are free of makeup and debris. If you wear waterproof mascara please stop 3 days before service.

  • While you will get the biggest impact with longer lashes, all lashes can be lifted! If you love your lift but wish you had longer lashes, we sell a lash growth serum to help with that! My clients who use this serum alongside their lash lifts have the most dramatic lifts!

  • Not usually! Of course it is possible, but it is very unlikely. Cyanoacrylate is not used in lash lifts, which is the main ingredient to cause a reaction in lash extensions. Generally clients who are allergic to lash extensions switch to lash lifts with no issue.

  • No! It’s very gentle, some clients even fall asleep! This service is only 45-60 mins and a very comfortable experience. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, you just let me know.

  • You can clean them as normal! Please just wait 24hrs before you get them wet.

  • Please wait 24 hrs before getting your lashes wet. This includes working out, swimming, showering, and saunas.

  • There is nothing that you need to do in between, but you are encouraged to use a lash serum though, as well as a lash conditioner! This will keep your lashes healthy, long and strong!

  • Clients with dry eyes, conjunctivitis, trichotillomania or chemo are not candidates for lash lifts. You may get a lash lift after 1 year of completion of chemotherapy.

Lash Extensions

  • Not when done correctly! The weight and length of your lash extensions will be determined based on the health of your natural lashes. You are also welcome to continue using a lash extension safe eye serum to keep them extra strong! One fan or one lash will be applied to one single natural lash in order to maintain the health of your natural lashes.

  • There are a few reasons why lash fills are important in order to keep the fullness of your lashes!

    1. We naturally shed 1-5 lashes per day per eye, taking the extension with it. The natural lashes will grow back, requiring new extensions to be applied.

    2. Lashes grow out! Lash extensions will grow out with your natural lash, and eventually it will cause an uneven distribution of weight. These need to be popped off and replaced with a fresh lash extension closer to the base of the natural lash.

    3. Eventually the adhesive can break down, causing the extension to pop off. These will need to be replaced with a fresh extension.

Lash Extensions need to be filled every 2-3 weeks in order to maintain the desired fullness. This is determined based on your personal preference, as well as your natural lash shed cycle. Please book 2-3 fills in advance to make sure that you have your preferred date and time.

  • Classic lashes are one single lash extension applied to one natural lash. This gives a mascaraed look without the mess or the clumps! This will not add more fullness than you already have naturally. This is a great introduction to lashes, and excellent when you’re looking for more of a natural look!

Hybrid lashes are a mix of Classic and Volume lashes. This is 50% of each. This will add more fullness and density, as well as give it more of a textured look. This is one of our most popular sets, as it is the perfect mix of natural and dramatic!

Volume lashes for all the va-va-voom! This gives you plenty of extra fluff! This is using thinner lash extensions than classics. 2-8 extensions fanned and attached to each natural lash. This gives you all the drama with none of the stress!

Mega Volume lashes are for when you want show-stopping lashes! This is great if you want them extra thick and fluffy, or if you have less natural lashes but still want a volume look!

  • Wash your lashes before every appointment! Use a foaming lash extension specific cleanser with a dense cleansing brush to fully clean between the lashes. Wash the lashes as well as the eyelids, every single day.

Do not drink caffeine before your appointment to avoid fluttering eyelids.

Avoid putting anything oil based on the skin around your eyes.

Discontinue the use of mascara 2-3 days before your full set, and 3-5 days beforehand if you use waterproof mascara.

  • Yes! Washing your lashes every day is essential for several different reasons.

    • The bond between your natural lash and lash extension can trap dust, debris, oils, etc.

    • You can cause yourself an eye infection by not washing your lashes.

    • Your lashes will last longer if they are washed daily. This prevents anything from sitting on your lash bonds and breaking them down.

    • Your lashes will look fluffier because oils won’t be clumping your lashes together.

  • You sure can! But keep in mind that salt water and chlorine can breakdown the lash adhesive. Make sure to wash your lashes with a lash extension specific cleanser directly after swimming and working out, this will help to prevent salt water or chemicals from sitting on your lashes.

  • You can absolutely still get lash extensions, but you must remove them at fills and full sets. It is recommended to wear your glasses to appointments.

  • Yes and no. Mascara is an absolute no with lash extensions. You cannot properly wash the mascara off and it will snag in the bonds. Please also avoid using any kohl, gel or pencil eyeliner. This can also get stuck in between the bonds and can cause a breakdown of your adhesive, as well as being impossible to completely wash off. Makeup near the eye area should be oil-free. You are welcome to wear any other makeup, just make sure to wash it off every night!

  • Not a problem! Just let me know before your appointment what kind of fill you’d like to switch to. You can always go up or down in fullness, or switch styles at your next appointment!

  • If you develop any kind of reaction, please let Elysha know immediately.

Cyanoacrylate is the ingredient in lash extension adhesive that makes it sticky and long-lasting, but it is also the ingredient that can cause allergic reactions over long term use. With that being said, that means you could potentially have lashes for months, or even years, and then all of a sudden become allergic.

Typical symptoms when developing an allergy to lash extensions include:

    • Itchiness on the lash line

    • Swelling on the eyelid

    • Redness on the eyelid

    • Discomfort

If any of these occur, inform Elysha immediately so that she can professionally remove your lash extensions. Unfortunately this will mean you are no longer a candidate for lash extensions. Clients with allergies to lash extensions typically don’t have any issues with lash lifts. It is recommended to wait until your eyes feel completely normal before trying though.

If your under eye becomes swollen it is most likely an allergy to the under eye pad, and we are able to try another type to see if that helps.

  • Gel pads can typically cause more allergies than the lash extension adhesive itself! This is generally due to the products used on the gel pads. In order to try and prevent any allergies I keep an assortment of different eye tapes that are less likely to cause an allergy.

  • Definitely not! The key is to make sure you bring your lash extension specific cleanser with you to any sweat or wet activity! Wash your lashes directly after any workout or activity that causes you to sweat, this will make a considerable difference in your lash retention.

  • If you can’t sleep on your back then I recommend getting a silk pillowcase to prevent a regular pillowcase from tugging on your lash extensions while you sleep.

  • If you have Trichotillomania, very sensitive eyes, brittle or damaged lashes.

Brow Laminations

  • A Brow Lamination, fondly referred to as a Lami is basically a perm for your brows! A brow lami will give you a fuller brow look, as well as a more defined shape. This service is great for just about anyone, whether you have thin, thick, or over-plucked brows. A brow lami is the perfect treatment to give you fuller brows every day! Please keep in mind that this is not a no maintenance service though!

  • Anyone looking to improve their overall brow shape! This is great for taming curly and unruly brow hairs, as well as giving your brows an overall fuller shape. If you over-plucked in the 80’s/90’s, this can give you the fuller look you are trying to achieve!

  • Do not trim your brow hair! Make sure to stop trimming and plucking at least 3 weeks beforehand in order for the brow hairs to be long enough to perm.

You also need to avoid any AHA’s or Retinols around the area for a week beforehand.

It is also a great idea to start conditioning them in the shower 1-3 weeks beforehand as well as use oil on them at night. This will soften the brow to make the brow Lami process even better.

Please come to your appointment without any brow makeup.

  • A brow lamination lasts approximately 6-10 weeks! Using one of our brow soaps can help it to last longer!

  • Wait 24hrs before you get them wet (this includes steam and sweat).

It is also crucial to use a daily brow conditioner/nourishing oil on them every night in order to keep your brow hairs healthy and strong. Using your hair conditioner on them in the shower is also a great way to give them extra hydration.

Get your brow brush slightly damp in the morning and brush the hair into the direction you like.

My personal preference for maintaining my lamination is to use jojoba or castor oil on them as well as our brow conditioner on top every night. Do not let your brows dry out or they will become brittle and can break. Aftercare is essential to maintain great brows.

  • Using a gentle brow soap is a great way to extend your brow lamination! It will help to keep your brows in its new shape.

  • Make sure to wait 24hrs before doing any wet or sweat activities! After that, have at it! Just make sure to brush your brows in place afterwards.

Waxing

  • Waxing can be painful, all depending on your pain tolerance. It is a short, stinging sensation that will only last momentarily.

  • Soft Wax - is used in a thinner consistency that is removed with a strip. Soft wax works for all hair types, and is especially great for those fine baby hairs! Soft wax adheres to the skin, giving it a slight exfoliating effect as well.

Hard Wax - is used in a thicker consistency, applied to the skin and left for a minute to harden before being pulled off. Hard wax is great for coarse hair removal. Hard wax is the preferred wax for clients who have dry or sensitive skin, or for those who are prone to skin lifting.

You may choose between soft or hard wax, or let Elysha choose based on your client form and contraindications, as well as hair and skin type.

  • Yes, you can wax during pregnancy. You may find you are more sensitive during your pregnancy though. Waxing while you’re pregnant may also make your skin more prone to swelling and lifting. For those reasons it is recommended to use hard wax while pregnant to give you the most comfortable service possible.

  • Short answer is no. Waxing while using these products can be extremely harmful for your skin. This can cause lifting (removing) of the skin and can cause permanent scarring when combined. Please ask your doctor if waxing is right for you. Please make sure to accurately state any medications you are taking on the client forms attached to your confirmation email.

  • If you use AHA’s on your skin, please stop 4-6 days before any waxing appointment. Also make sure to let Elysha know of the products you are using in order for us to make a safe assessment on the wax chosen for your service.

  • Everyone is different, as it does depend a lot on your natural hair cycle, but most clients re-wax between 3-6 weeks.

  • Shaving causes the hair to grow back quicker. Most people have to shave several times a week in order to stay smooth. Shaving also cuts the hair, causing the hair to be short and sharp when growing out.

Long-term waxing causes the hair to grow back slower and finer, due to the hair being pulled out by the root and weakening the hair follicle. Your hair will also grow back in soft, not sharp.

  • It is important to have enough hair growth in order for your wax to be able to effectively grab onto the hairs. Hair should be approximately the length of a grain of rice, usually about 3 weeks.

  • Exfoliate and moisturize your skin 24hrs before your wax to ensure your hair follicles are cleared from dead skin cells, and that your skin is hydrated.

  • It’s important to avoid UV exposure for 24-48hrs before your waxing appointment. You want your skin to be hydrated before your appointment to avoid skin lifting.

  • Comfortable and loose fitting clothing! Your skin will be sensitive, and we want to avoid rubbing or chaffing that will cause your freshly waxed skin to become irritated.

  • Like many personal care services, avoid all things wet and sweat for 24hrs post-wax. This is to avoid irritation and ingrown hairs.

  • After 3-5 days you can start exfoliating the skin again. It is recommended to exfoliate and moisturize your skin regularly in order to avoid ingrown hairs and dry skin.
